We had a wonderful time at Traigh House. We have stayed at numerous Scottish holiday houses over the past 60 years but this was our favourite so far – the house is very comfortable, very well equipped and in the most delightful of locations; we hope to return at the same time next year.

Delnabo is a beautiful house and it is clear that the owners did not look to economize when renovating and equipping the house. Very nice beds and bath rooms, Katie was most helpful and kind, great living, kitchen and dining room, two washing machines and two big fridges and very complete equipment in the kitchen. Emma Bridgewater mugs, beautiful heavy curtains. Beautiful walks, fishing, swimming in the river.

We’ve all returned safely from Delnabo … boooo! We had the best time and the weather was fantastic, many thanks for helping with arrangements. Friday we visited a ceramic experience in Grantown-on-Spey, followed by a nice dinner at the Clockhouse restaurant in Tomintoul which had just opened that day. Saturday we did the art tour and afternoon tea at the Fife Arms in Braemar … the wee ones were able to entertain guests on the piano in reception. We also saw the whisky they have at £10,000 per dram .. ouch! At night we had someone come along to explain the dark skies to the girls … absolutely fascinating, they were full of questions for the chap who was doing it … think he was surprised. Sunday we had a massive easter egg hunt … no idea how the easter bunny found Delnabo … walk in the forest … visit to Ballindalloch Castle followed by fab dinner in the dining room supplied by Ghillies Kitchen. Monday we couldn’t really go very far because the girls had arranged a full day of feeding cows and walking dogs with Katy and Dave. They had been doing that most days and for them it was the highlight of the holiday. You can safely pencil us in for next year.

Our group had a fantastic weekend. The tower itself is an amazing space and we managed to get to the clay pigeon shooting and a few walks so all good. Thanks also for the recommendation on Meldcat for the catering – Cathy was lovely and everyone enjoyed the food. There was a great pub about a 40 minute walk away as well which helped enormously. Will definitely be booking again some time.

Alladale exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The house was so comfortable, Sarah was wonderful, infact every member of the team made a difference to our stay. Tom produced delicious meals for us. Inis was so informative on the vision and the conservation, Ryan was also great he took us out to shoot clays. Marie and Jean where great with lots of info on the area. We enjoyed the walks and all that went with them, it is stunning countryside. It was a magical few days with those near and dear to us.
