Terms and Conditions

George Goldsmith Ltd is the letting agent for the owners of the sporting estates and properties advertised within our website and brochures. Subject to acceptance of your booking, and payment as required below, you will enter into a contract with the owner of the estate or property concerned, the principal terms of which will be set out in a Tenancy Agreement.

Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the particulars of the estates/properties contained in our website/brochures are accurate at the time of going to print, no representation is given as to their accuracy and they do not form part of any contract.

On acceptance of a booking, the let will be provisionally reserved in your name and an invoice for 50% of the rental will be sent out. Payment should be sent to George Goldsmith Ltd and received within 10 days, or by the ‘Payment due’ date, on the invoice, to confirm the booking.

An invoice for the balance of the rental will be sent out 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the tenancy, and this must be settled within 10 days, or 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the tenancy.

If a booking is made less than 8 weeks prior to the commencement of the tenancy, the total rental will be due 6 weeks prior to the commencement of the tenancy.

Failure to comply with items 3, 4 or 5 above may result in cancellation of the booking and George Goldsmith Ltd reserves the right to re-let without further notice.

Payments may be made by any of the following methods:

– By bank transfer

– By cheque drawn on a UK bank

– By banker’s draft

All payments must be made in Sterling. Bank charges arising from the transfer of funds will be payable by the tenant. Please contact George Goldsmith Ltd for Bank Details.

George Goldsmith Ltd/the estate/property owner reserve the right to charge interest on any sums which are not paid when due in accordance with the foregoing or the relevant invoice at the rate of 2 per cent above the Bank of Scotland base rate from time to time.

All sportsmen must have third party insurance against sporting accidents.

All instructions and decisions given by stalkers, keepers and ghillies will be final and must be followed. Failure to comply with such instructions or decisions may result in the cancellation of the rest of the tenancy.

Where required it may be a condition of the tenancy that returns of game taken be made to George Goldsmith Ltd within seven days of the end of the tenancy.

Cancellation

In the event of cancellation of a booking, if the tenancy can be re-let, you will be liable only to pay the difference between the rental achieved on re-letting (which may be at a reduced rate) and the rental you agreed to pay, plus an administration fee. If this difference is less than the sums you have already paid, an appropriate refund will be made. If the difference is greater than the sums you have already paid you will be invoiced for the shortfall. If the tenancy cannot be re-let, you will remain liable to pay the full amount of the agreed rental. We therefore recommend that you take out travel insurance to insure against cancellation.

Coronavirus / Covid

Your booking is subject to government Covid-19 restrictions in Scotland. In the event of Government Travel restrictions imposed on travel, including a regional lockdown, restrictions imposed on overseas visitors, restrictions imposed on travel to Scotland, cross border restrictions or the re-closure of holiday letting accommodation as a result of Covid-19 you would be entitled to defer your booking to a later date, receive a credit note or cancel your booking and receive a full refund. Please note that if you are unable or unwilling to travel for any other reason, our normal cancellation terms apply.

If your booking has to be cancelled due to you or one of your guests being diagnosed with any coronavirus (including COVID19) or contagious disease, or are ordered by a government or public authority to quarantine, based on the suspicion that you have specifically been exposed to any coronavirus (including COVID-19) or contagious disease and are unable to travel, you must contact your travel insurer.

Please be aware that in the event of UK Government imposed restrictions preventing you from taking your booked dates, we will endeavour to offer you alternative dates or a full refund. If there are national or regional limitations in place restricting the number of people/households that can stay, you will be expected to abide by those limitations and still come in whatever reduced capacity is permitted.  All refunds or postponement of bookings are at the sole discretion of the Estate.

How to Book

Simply telephone or email to discuss your desired dates for your holiday period and we will confirm availability. A deposit of 50% is then required to confirm your booking or the full amount is required if within 8 weeks of the entry date.

Damage Deposits

The majority of our properties require a damage deposit of £500.00, which is refundable after your stay.

We very much look forward to being of assistance with your booking and look forward to hearing from you.

Liability

Neither the proprietors, nor George Goldsmith Ltd as agents of the estate, can accept liability for personal injury or illness, loss or damage to luggage or other belongings, for any delay, inconvenience or other loss. A respect for the nature of the terrain, facilities and the vagaries of the Scottish weather must be accepted. As a working estate, there may be hazards, both in the property and on the estate itself, such as rivers and lochs, boats, sporting equipment (this list is not exhaustive). Neither the Estate, nor George Goldsmith Ltd, can be held responsible for any injury incurred, howsoever caused.
