Winton Cottage is the former laird’s house of Winton Estate. Located in a quiet corner of the estate close to Winton Castle, this property offers luxurious and fully modernised accommodation and is perfect for groups looking for a weekend away, family holidays, cycling groups or golfing breaks. Guests really get the best of both worlds here – a beautiful rural property, within easy reach of the fabulous East Lothian beaches and just 30 minutes from the historic capital city of Edinburgh.
The cottage has an abundance of outside space. The garden is large and very safe with it’s own summer house and sunny patio with teak table and chairs. There is also a BBQ and lawn games avaliable.
Winton Cottage can be booked on a self-catered or catered basis and one option includes a live-in house-keeper (this would reduce the accommodation to 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms). The property can be rented in conjunction with Winton Castle (sleeps 16) and/or Wintonhill Farmhous (sleeps 12-14) giving a total capacity of 42 across the estate.
Short breaks are available and prices depend on the number of nights and the time of year.

The provision of all bed linen, towels and bath robes is included in the rent. If necessary, additional linen/towels can be supplied for a fee. We can also supply children’s high chairs and a cot (please notify us in advance).
Hawking Details: Hunting rabbits/hares through the Estate with hawks. Cost: Please contact us. Minimum of 4 people. Clay Pigeon shooting.
Fly casting and Fishing by arrangement.
For the keen golfer, there is a huge choice of golf close by. The East Lothian coastline is blessed with fabulous sweeping sandy beaches, fishing, sailing and horse riding is nearby. Hill walking, Musselburgh Racecourse, Glenkinchie Distillery, the Scottish Seabird Centre and, of course, the cultural city of Edinburgh itself are all within easey reach.
