Eilean Darach Estate is situated in breathtaking west coast scenery in the Strath of Little Loch Broom and enjoys magnificent views of the An Teallach range.
Situated on the beautiful north west coast, Eilean Darach Lodge offers very comfortable accommodation for up to 14 guests together with salmon fishing for six rods on the stunning Gruinard River.
This classic Highland spate river is a joy to fish between June and the end of September. Salmon fishing is also available on the Dundonell River and from a boat on Loch na Sealga, which is at the head of the River Gruinard system.
During September and October we can offer extensive red deer stalking over 30,000 acres on this magnificent west coast sporting estate.
Other activities can be enjoyed including golf at Gairloch and Ullapool, as well as wonderful walking, beautiful beaches and the Atlantic Ocean right on the door step.
Eilean Darach Lodge rental
£8095.00 per weekly for Eilean Darach Lodge and salmon fishing for six rods on the River Gruinard.
Mixed fishing & stalking packages
During August, September and October we can offer mixed weeks of salmon fishing and stalking.
Stalking
Red stags amount to £600.00 + VAT per cull stag
Hinds amount to £300.00 + VAT per rifle per day
Accommodation
Eilean Darach sleeps 14 on a self catering basis. The accommodation includes the following:

6 twin bedrooms
1 small double bedroom
3 bathrooms/shower rooms
1 W.C.
There is separate cook’s accommodation available in the adjacent bothy.
Linen:
Bed linen is provided but tenants are asked to bring their own towels.
There is no smoking in any of the bedrooms or throughout the lodge.
There is a housekeeper in charge of the house who cleans for 2 hours per day in the public rooms/ground floor only. The housekeeper is not available to take on kitchen duties, such as washing up, cooking or cleaning in the kitchen, dining room and pantry.
If required, we can usually arrange for a live-in cook for the week if requested when booking.
Dogs are allowed downstairs in the House, but not upstairs. There are also outside kennels available.
Please note:
Eilean Darach Lodge does not have a full housekeeping service, the public rooms are freshened up and tidied, but not the bedrooms.
Towels are not provided. Guests must bring their own.
Beds are not changed mid-week. If there is a mid-week changeover then guests will need to bring their own bedding. The housekeeper only changes beds weekly and extra bedding cannot be supplied.
A 4×4 vehicle is required for access up and down the River Gruinard.
Check-in will revert back to 4 pm and check-out is back to 10 am.
Sporting
Fishing
The principal fishing is on the Gruinard River and consists of two beats out of which three beats alternate on a daily basis – 3 rods per beat, making a total of 6. There is also a boat on Loch na Sealga at the head of the river and sea trout fishing on Loch Ghuibsachain.
The Gruinard River is about 12 miles from Eilean Darach Lodge. Please note: Lodge guests will require their own 4-wheel drive transport for use on the river track to access the beats.
There is also fishing available on the Dundonnell River which comprises of 5 pools within short walking distance of the House. A ghillie is available for tenants on the Gruinard River and Loch na Sealga. By arrangement with the ghillie, tenants may also fish Loch Coire Chacrachain, a 50 minute walk from the main road. A copy of instructions for the river will be sent to all fishing tenants and the ghillie will of course normally be able to answer further queries.
Stalking
During August, September and October we can offer challenging and exciting red deer stalking for one or two rifles on the Eilean Darach Estate which extends to over 20,000 acres.
Golf at Gairloch and Ullapool.
Sea fishing can be arranged locally.
The famous Inverewe Gardens and Little Leckmelm Arboretum are always open and a wonderful place to visit. Other well known private gardens open from time to time (under Scotland’s Garden Scheme).
Ullapool & Gairloch, other leisure facilities available include – boat trips, sea fishing, sailing, museums, leisure centre, restaurants etc.
The Dundonell Hotel itself provides excellent hospitality (10 minutes by road or 15 minutes by foot across a swing bridge).
