Situated in the Scottish Highlands, Old Milton is a fantastic property with views across the Cairngorms National Park.
Old Milton is a beautiful former sporting lodge which has been beautifully renovated to a very high standard. This secluded property is nestled in a private estate and includes its own 9-hole golf course and tennis court.
The house has retained its original charm with a stunning handmade staircase, wooden panelling, carved beams and beautiful open fires and wood burning stoves. The public rooms are wonderfully light and spacious and perfect for large family gathering. With 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and can comfortably accommodate a party of 14. This charming property has a real personality and warmth from that perfect mix of old and new.
There is a lovely dining room seats up to 20 guests. The morning room and formal drawing room are luxuriously furnished with large comfortable sofas, perfect for relaxing in. The well planned kitchen has been equipped with every piece of equipment you need to cater for a large group.
Adjacent to the house is a small bothy which can sleep a further 2 guests. Ideal for a extra guests or a cook, and bringing the total accommodation up to 16 guests.
Outside there is a fun 9 Hole golf course for guests to enjoy, together with an all-weather tennis court. Also in the grounds there is a hot tub, and also a “glamping pod” in the garden. Fun for children if they want to camp, but please note there is no WC facilities!
Trout fishing on the private loch is included, and there are also some rods on the River Spey.
Lots to do in the local area. The Cairngorms National Park is on your doorstep and Aviemore offers lots of activities for all ages.
A maximum of 3 dogs can stay at Old Milton by prior arrangement. Dogs are confined to hard floor areas only and are not allowed upstairs or on furniture. Wet dogs are to be kept in drying room.
Although in a secluded setting, Old Milton is very easy to reach. The A9 Perth to Inverness trunk road and the mainline railway through Kingussie both provide fast access. Trains to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and London are all available from Kingussie station. Inverness airport is 47 miles from the house and can be reached in an hour.
Please note that there is no daily housekeeping included in the rental. Housekeeping can be arranged if required by prior arrangement.

Activities
Within the estate you will find a private 9-hole golf course for your party to enjoy at its leisure. There is also an all weather tennis court, croquet lawn and a clay pigeon shooting range.
The Cairngorms National Park is on your doorstep offering climbing and mountain bike riding in the Cairngorms and Grampians.
The nearby town of Kingussie offers a variety of places to eat and drink, and is a great base for activities including climbing, rambling, river walks, pony trekking, water sports and winter sports. It would also be possible to play on the 18-hole Kingussie Golf Club offering extraordinary views over the Cairngorms National Park.
Water Sports – Only a couple of miles north of Old Milton, Loch Insh provides a variety of summer and winter outdoor activities for all ages and experience. Sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing and river trips in Canadian style canoes dominate the summer months, while skiing expeditions are available in the winter.
Riding – Newtonmore Riding Centre is fifteen minutes from Old Milton. The centre offers a range of excursions into the Cairngorms, hacking and trekking, pony club for children and carriage driving.
Gliding – Take in breathtaking views from the peace and quiet of a glider. Five miles from Old Milton is the Cairngorm Gliding Club. Although a members’ club, it is open to visitors if booked in advance
Sporting
A variety of shooting, both walked and driven, is available on nearby estates.
Stalking red stags, hinds, and roe bucks is also available given enough notice and depending on the season.
Guests at Old Milton can fish for Atlantic salmon and brown trout on the Spey. It should be noted that this section of the Spey is 1,000 feet above sea level therefore not always a successful outing, however worth a punt! Guests would require to bring their own salmon rods.
There is a stocked trout pond on the grounds, and there are a few trout rods for guest use.
