Muckrach Estate is within driving and walking distance of some outstanding local attractions.

At nearby Rothiemurchus, they offer a whole host of exciting outdoor activities. Some that can be enjoyed with your two feet firmly planted on the floor, such as; Archery, Wildlife Photography, clay shooting, various walking routes and more. However, for those that enjoy something slightly more exhilarating a few feet above the land, you’ll relish their pony trekking, quad bike trekking, river tubing and white water rafting to name but a few!

Hidden away in the Cairngorm National Park, you will find “An Lochan Uaine”. Known locally as ‘the green loch’ this is one of the most beautiful spots in the Aviemore area. Legend has it, the bright green colour comes from pixies who wash their clothes in the water – although the other theory revolves around algae, which isn’t as much fun…

Loch Morlich is a freshwater loch in the Badenoch and Strathspey area of Highland, Scotland near Aviemore. The loch is home to a watersports centre with kayaking, sailing and windsurfing among the activities available. There is also a yacht club and cycling routes around the loch.

The ultimate scotch experience starts right on the doorstep of Muckrach…The Malt Whisky Trail is a uniquely immersive whisky experience, not to be missed.

The Strathspey Railway runs between Aviemore, Boat of Garten and Broomhill in the Cairngorms. The attraction is run by a group of volunteer train enthusiasts, who have recreated a nostalgic experience of the 1950’s with great attention to detail.

In addition, The Highland Wildlife Park, Loch Ness, Landmark Forest Adventure Park and the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd are all well worth a visit!
