The Little Gruinard is a wonderful river in Wester Ross, which flows out of Fionn Loch for approximately nine miles into Gruinard Bay on the north west coast of Scotland. It lies within the Eilean Darach Estate and offers delightful double bank salmon fishing for up to 3/5 rods.

Little Gruinard Lodge overlooks Gruinard Bay and provides comfortable accommodation for up to 10 guests in five bedrooms.
The surrounding scenery is simply stunning with a combination of white sandy beaches, sea and mountains.

Accommodation
Little Gruinard Lodge is situated in a lovely position overlooking Gruinard Bay on the magical west coast of Scotland.
The lodge lodge has five bedrooms comprising of two x double bedrooms and three x twin bedded rooms providing accommodation for up to 10 guests. There are two bathrooms. There is a newly fitted kitchen (2020) with Aga and Range (gas), microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dryer. The kitchen/dining room is open plan with open sitting room off. The sitting room enjoys lovely views to the sea.
The Little Gruinard River is a stone’s throw from the lodge and can easily be fished before breakfast or after dinner!
Activities
There is wonderful walking and climbing, including the formidable and renowned An Teallach range, which forms part of the estate.
There are lovely sandy beaches on Gruinard Bay and others close by.
Boat trips can be organised from Ullapool such as whale watching and sea safaris.
Golf at Gairloch and Ullapool.
Sea fishing can be arranged locally.
The famous Inverewe Gardens and Little Leckmelm Arboretum are always open and a wonderful place to visit. Other well known private gardens open from time to time (under Scotland’s Garden Scheme).
Ullapool & Gairloch, offer boat trips, sea fishing, sailing, museums, leisure centre, restaurants etc.
Sporting
Salmon fishing on the Little Gruinard is the big draw! The benefit of taking the lodge is that you have the exclusive use of the salmon fishing for up to 5 rods. There are approximately nine miles of delightful double bank fishing to be enjoyed. A 4 x 4 vehicle can be used to access the first few miles of the river and then it is on foot to access the higher reaches. The sea pool and lower pools are just a few minutes walk from the lodge, so no excuse for an early morning cast before breakfast!
Red deer stalking can be enjoyed from August onwards up until 20th October for stags on the Eilean Darach Estate. The estate extends to more than 20,000 acres of breathtaking Highland scenery and challenging terrain. Hind stalking can be arranged for two rifles from late October.
