Knock House on the Isle of Mull could not be a more magical place to spend the Festive Season with friends and family! Wonderfully comfortable house, with fabulous walks and scenery on your doorstep. Currently available both Christmas 2024 and New Year 2024/5. The rate is £30,000 for a 7 night self-catered stay for up to 22 guests, inclusive of daily housekeeping. Knock offers a fantastic variety of activities to enjoy including stalking for two rifles, salmon fishing, trout fishing and boating on the sea, including ‘Benmore Lady’ the estate’s 46ft motor cruiser. Whale and dolphin watching, picnics on deserted beaches, and much more are all part of a Knock House holiday experience
Knock House is a wonderful property and ‘home’ offering elegant and very comfortable accommodation for up to 20 guests and is located in the heart of the beautiful Benmore Estate, which extends to around 40,000 acres. Nestled at the foot of Ben Bheag, the head of Loch na Keal and overlooking the River Ba, this grand 18th Century property is the perfect place for your ultimate Scottish holiday.
The magic of Knock House is there is so much to do, see and experience. With a great staffing infrastructure on the ground we can offer salmon fishing Rivers Ba and Forsa, red deer stalking for two parties on the hill, together with trout fishing on the estate lochs. Sea fishing from the estate’s 30ft motor cruiser can be very productive, including mackerel fishing and lobster potting. ‘Benmore Lady’, the estate’s wonderful new 46ft Targa motor cruiser can offer exciting day trips including whale and dolphin watching and visiting the beautiful isolated beaches and islands around the west of Mull. All these activities are included in the rental.
An all-weather tennis court is available as well as bicycles and sailing dinghies. The first class Knock House team includes housekeeping staff, qualified boatman, stalkers and ghillies.

The rental for Knock House is on an inclusive basis to include house staff and all activities, including salmon fishing, trout fishing, stalking, boats trips to the islands and much more. Rentals are from Sunday – Sunday.

Accommodation
Knock House is an exceptional self-catering holiday rental. There are extensive guest rooms and bathrooms, including additional staff accommodation where required. Knock House is an idyllic destination for a wonderful getaway with family, friends and large parties.
The accommodation comprises of a very comfortable large drawing room, sitting room, dining room that seats 20, original billiards room, the recently created ceilidh room with sprung floor and outside patio offers limitless potential for memorable gatherings. Extensive gardens and a double tennis court.
Following extensive renovations in recent years, extending the property to offer 12 guest bedrooms and 8 bath or shower rooms, up to 20 guests can be comfortably accommodated in Knock House. Individually decorated and named after local Islands, each bedroom offers its guest unique accommodation for the duration of their stay.
The dining room seats up to 20, ideal for stylish dinners whether to create special family memories or impress a corporate party. Games and a little friendly competition are bound to form part of your holiday memories, with a billiard room with a three-quarter size snooker table, table tennis and table football.
The family kitchen benefits from a welcoming four door Aga, as well as electric cooker, microwave, plate warmer, dishwashers, fridges and freezers and extensive utensils.
Additionally there is a large boot room perfect for those fishing rods, gun room, a drying/boiler room and wi-fi.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome, but only by prior arrangement. Dogs MUST be restricted to the uncarpeted, ground floor areas at the back of the house. Kennels are available for guests; accommodation for 4 dogs.

Stalking
The Benmore Estate is a famous deer forest with some of the finest stalking grounds in Argyll. With the addition of sporting ground in Glenforsa, the estate encompasses five stalking beats. Approximately 50 stags are shot each year and in most weeks up to two stalking parties can be accommodated on the hill each day. Mull stags are impressively large and stalking is available from mid August onwards.
Fishing
The estate has fishing on the River Ba, Loch Ba, River Forsa and Loch Bhearnach. The River Ba is approximately 2 miles in length and consists of 6 named pools. The river flows out of Loch Ba and runs down to Loch na Keal. The River Forsa offers double bank fishing from source to sea with 50 named pools and a fishing hut. Salmon and sea trout run from late June to October.
Loch Ba is almost 3 miles in length and offers excellent salmon and sea trout fishing amidst spectacular highland scenery. The estate has two clinker built fishing boats on the loch with outboard motors in addition to a recently converted fishing bothy for use by house guests.
Loch na Keal also offers excellent quality sea fishing and the estate also successfully creel for lobster, prawn and crab in the loch from their Orkney fishing boat. The estate have a sea boat which is available for use by prior arrangement.
Boating
Knock is big on boats! There is a recently purchased, new 46ft Targa motor cruiser which is readily available for guests to use during their time at Knock. The Benmore Lady is skippered by Donald Bissett who is of course fully qualified to take out guests. This includes trips to the islands including Coll, where you can go for lunch. Tobermory is also easily accesible by boat. Whale and dolphin watching is a regular occurrence and barbecues on deserted white sand beaches, accessed only by boat, is all part of the week’s activities.
The estate also own a 30ft deep sea fishing boat and this has been another popular day’s activities for those who are not going to the hill to stalk. 180lb skate have been caught on a regular basis! In addition there is a Rib as well as sailing dinghies, canoes and windsurfers.
