The Luing Estate, on the Island of Luing comprises 9000 acres and offers a unique shooting experience.

The Isle of Luing shoot has been recently established by the owners and now offers exclusive shooting parties the chance of a fabulous mixed shooting weekend or mid-week break.  Offering driven partridge and pheasant shooting with additional wildfowling, duck flighting, snipe & woodcock shooting and located within the Inner Hebrides of Argyllshire.

The Luing Estate comprises 9000 acres across a unique multi-island setting.  The island of Luing (pronounced with a silent U) is central to the estate and combined with a number of surrounding islands offering guns a completely different sporting package. The estate has rugged, steep topography offering some challenging birds.  In addition to the shooting the estate can offer wonderful hill stalking opportunities for Red and Fallow deer.

We can offer tailored packages for both midweek and weekend rentals for teams of 8 guns that include catered accommodation over two nights.  A typical package comprises of arrival on Luing at lunchtime on Day One.  After a brief lunch, weather will dictate whether you spend your afternoon travelling by boat to the uninhabited neighbouring islands for walked-up pheasant & woodcock or an afternoon/evening of walked-up snipe shooting and wildfowling.  Evening flighting on the ponds for wild mallard and teal can be included in the package.

Day Two will see you enjoy a full driven day’s partridge and pheasant shooting on Luing.  The drives and shooting on offer are very diverse and there are always amazing views of the sea, mountains and other islands which adds to the whole experience.    The entire trip will be spent appreciating locally sourced produce in beautiful, yet homely accommodation and can be topped off with boat trips, wildlife tours, brown trout fishing, trips to Jura distillery, goose flighting and even water sports for those braver early season guests, before returning home on day three.

A typical two night package includes all bird shooting, accommodation, meals & drinks for a team of up to 8 guns. The two side-by-side 5 star cottages used for accommodation can sleep 15 across 8 bedrooms.  They have both been recently renovated and have a homely, comfortable touch, with astonishing views.  A selection of handpicked wines and other refreshment is included in the rental price.  However guests can arrange other options in advance should they wish.

Typical car travel time to the Luing ferry is 2.5 hours from Glasgow Airport and 3 hours from Edinburgh Airport and both are beautiful routes that take you through the Lomond and Trossachs National Park.  The Luing ferry leaves from North Cuan Ferry Terminal every half hour from 7.30am until 6pm and takes just 5 minutes to cross the water to the Isle of Luing.  The estate is then located only 10 minutes south from the Luing Ferry Terminal.  Alternative travel arrangements can be arranged from executive car hire to helicopter.  Just let us know.
