The Greenhill Shooting Lodge was established around 1764 by the 5th Duke of Roxburghe, to have a family shooting retreat a stone’s throw from the family seat, Floors Castle, in Kelso. Greenhill Lodge has sheltered generations of Roxburghe Innes-Ker’s, their friends, family and Royalty. The lodge has been reimagined by renowned interior designer Eve Whitman from the US, to allow for our guests and clients to enjoy this wonderful property on an exclusive use basis.
Greenhill Lodge has 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, accommodating up to 22 guests, making it ideal for a large family gathering, special celebration, a corporate retreat or for a shooting and fishing booking. We have access to several recommended local private cooks and chefs, to look after you during your rental. With its own private pub, whisky & music lounge and large stone fire-pit in the courtyard all in secluded grounds, it makes for a fun and unique venue.
The Scottish Borders are famous for its historic ruined Abbey’s and Castle tours, boutique shopping in Melrose & Kelso, not forgetting a visit to Sir Walter Scott’s home, Abbotsford. Salmon fishing on the River Tweed, golf at Schloss Roxburghe or walking in the Eildon Hills are easily accessible and can be arranged during your rental at Greenhill Lodge.
Accommodation
Greenhill Lodge offers 11 bedrooms, all individually designed, complete with luxury details and beautifully appointed bathrooms. All rooms provided with guest robes & amenities. Individual radiators for personal comfort settings, broadband WiFi connections and lovely gardens, sheep grazing meadows & hill views from every window.
The luxurious individually designed rooms & suites offer both private and shared accommodations to fit the needs for up to 22 guests.
Separate Cottage
There is also a separate guest cottage to sleep an additional 3 guests, should you wish to add the Bothy Cottage to your booking. Or ideal for a cook and assistant.
There’s a Pub & Whisky lounge, and a good Drying Room for wet kit.
Greenhill Lodge has oil central heating with three open fireplaces (one full basket of wood provided) and a wood burning stove in the kitchen. There are three ovens (electric and a gas), two stoves – an electric and gas commercial sized hob. There is an under counter microwave/air fryer combo, three refrigerators, one freezer, two washing machines, two tumble dryers, three dishwashers. 2 wall mount televisions for streaming. There is full Cat-5 WiFi run throughout. There is a pool table room, a Pub (Hound & The Hare), a Drying Room for the sportsman in from the fields. There is also have a Cigar/Whisky/Music Lounge (The Bond Room) for the relaxing in – this is the only area on-site where smoking is allowed. There is an outdoor dining table, a large hand crafted stone fire-pit and a meadow facing outdoor table nestled in the garden trees, for use. Bed linens and towels are included. Private parking for twelve cars. There is a fully enclosed walled garden with lawns, patios, furniture and a large custom stone charcoal barbecue “kitchen”. No smoking is allowed inside the lodge but there is a cigar/whisky lounge (The Bond Room) where smoking is permitted.
Two well-behaved dogs are allowed at £30 each per night, per approval by owner, with an additional £100 cleaning fee required. Please enquire for additional dog allowance and sorry, no cats please.
