Fishing is available on the estate and there are numerous golf courses nearby. Gleneagles is just over one hours drive and Pitlochry is just 20 minutes away. Glenshee Ski Centre is easily accessible while other attractions include Balmoral, Glamis and Blair Castles.
Sporting
The estate offers wonderful walking in breathtaking scenery. Glenfernate’s “low” ground consists of rough permanent pasture, rising to heather moorland drained by the Fernate burn, a tributary of Scotland’s largest river, the Tay.
Herds of wild deer are common, together with grouse, ptarmigan and other game on the estate.
Guests can enjoy brown trout fishing on the private loch, which has the benefit of its own fishing hut and rowing boat – a perfect place for picnics together with some good fishing.
Stalking is occasionally available in September/October for 1/2 rifles.
Walked-up grouse shooting is also available on this lovely Perthshire estate.
