This property offers sumptuous accommodation for up to 18 guests. Forming part of the Cortachy and Airlie Estates, the house is situated in a stunning location at the foot of the Angus Glens and is surrounded by woodland, farmland and hills. There are wonderful walks throughout the estate, with fishing, shooting and catering available by arrangement with the owner.

This welcoming house has a large stone-flagged and pillared entrance hall, a stylish two-storey hanging staircase and several beautifully light and spacious oval rooms. The house has been imaginatively refurbished and decorated in a light and occasionally quirky style, with fine fabrics and a selection of antiques dotted throughout. With fine cotton bed linen and original deep claw-foot baths, this is a wonderful retreat to relax in at the end of a fabulous day.
Entering this idyllic home, you will find the spectacular stone-flagged hallway with its impressive staircase. Exploring the ground floor, you will discover the light, attractive and spacious oval drawing room which features an open fire, plenty of seating and glorious views. The magnificent high-ceilinged dining room has a large dining table, an open fire and wonderful views, and is the ideal location for sharing a celebratory meal. There is also a TV room and a breakfast room, both of which are perfect for relaxing in. There is also a boot room and bathroom on the ground floor.
The lower ground floor has fully equipped kitchen with additional dining space, and a games room where you can try your hand at table tennis. There is also a twin bedroom on this floor as well as a utility room, larder, bathroom and separate WC.
Heading up the staircase, the first floor has five beautifully decorated and stylish bedrooms. There are two double rooms with a shared Jack and Jill bathroom, a king-size room with an en-suite bathroom and two double bedrooms, including one built into the oval of the building. There is also an additional bathroom.
Finally, the second floor offers three more bedrooms: two double rooms including one oval room with gorgeous hand-painted walls, and a twin room. There are also two bathrooms on the second floor.
Going outside, you can unwind in the delightful gardens which feature extensive lawns and flowerbeds. You can also explore the surrounding estate woodland. The River South Esk runs through the grounds. Ample parking is available.

Activities
There are many attractions throughout this lovely area, with the Loch of Lintrathen and RSPB Loch of Kinnordy Nature Reserve both perfect for keen walkers and nature-lovers. The setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth and the childhood home of the Queen Mother, Glamis Castle is also nearby.
You will be ideally situated for visiting the popular market town of Forfar which has a variety of independent shops, restaurants and pubs, and is home to numerous attractions including the Meffan Museum and Art Gallery, Forfar Loch Country Park and the Pitmuies Gardens. The pretty town of Kirriemuir is also nearby, and is the home of Kirriemuir Camera Obscura, the fascinating Gateway to the Glens Museum and the JM Barrie Birthplace – in honour of the creator of Peter Pan.
There are several golf courses in the area, including Alyth, Glenisla and Kirriemuir. Other attractions within easy reach are the Pictish Room, Redwings Mountains horse sanctuary and the tea rooms and nature reserve at Murton Farm. Heading north, you will reach the outskirts of the Cairngorms National Park.
