Brewlands Lodge is available the festive week, commencing Friday 20th/Saturday 21st December 2024. Very comfortable accommodation for up to 16 guests; £6,600 for 7 nights on a self-catered basis. There is an excellent housekeeper at Brewlands who could cater for you at an additional cost. Set in the heart of Glenisla, a wonderful location for family holidays and exploring the Angus Glens. Brewlands Lodge was a childhood holiday home of President George W Bush and is an elegant and welcoming large Scottish holiday house set amongst 120 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds.
Brewlands Lodge is only 90 minutes from Edinburgh Airport, yet situated in wonderful Highland country. A holiday home to both US Presidents’ Bush, it is elegant and extremely comfortable, set at the heart of an ancient, tranquil monastic estate bounded by the Cairngorm National Park.
Trout fishing on the River Isla, daily housekeeping, a hot tub and revolving summer house are included in the rental. Catering can be arranged through the estate chef.
Tennis court, table tennis, mountain biking, and two trout lochs are available to guests. Skiing, 30 golf courses (including St Andrews and Gleneagles), distilleries, castles, tartan and cashmere, artisan food shopping and producers within one hour’s drive.
Sporting packages can be arranged including driven and walked-up grouse (over pointers), pheasant, duck, partridge, duck flighting, red and roe stalking, clay shooting, salmon fishing on the Isla and Tay.

Summer high season weeks are Friday changeover and Christmas/New Year changeover is Monday (minimum 7 nights).

Dogs
Up to a maximum of 2 well behaved dogs are allowed to stay at Brewlands Lodge. BUT ONLY BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT WITH THE OWNER. Dogs are only allowed on the un-carpeted downstairs areas. There is a £40.00 + VAT charge per dog to cover additional cleaning. Dogs must stay overnight in the Gun Room which is fully heated and adjacent to the Lodge. Dogs must be kept under control at all times and it is the responsibility of the owner to clean up after their dogs.

The large drawing room is furnished with beautiful antique furniture, deep sofas and a roaring fire. The library is clad in family tartan, and is an inspirational place to sit and read. The dining room is wonderful for entertaining, and the large kitchen is very well equipped with a separate large utility room beyond it, housing the laundry facilities.

Fresh, pure, drinking water is provided to Brewlands from an ancient spring. Used since the 12th Century by the local monks, and in the 17th & 18th centuries by the locals to produce whisky in their elicit stills.
Part of the glen is a wild flower reseve and host to a profusion of wild flowers which can only be grown in unpoluted environments.

Sporting
We can offer mixed shooting packages on Brewlands Estate, including driven and walked up pheasant, duck and partridge shooting, walked-up grouse, duck flighting and roe deer stalking. Red deer stalking can be arranged on the neighbouring estates. Salmon fishing can be arranged on the Rivers Isla, Blackwater, Shee and Tay. There are also two trout lochs to fish, one of which is rated as one of the top 10 in Scotland.
There is a boat available, but only if the services of the ghillie are engaged.
Clay shooting can also be organised on the estate.
From the garden one may walk the short distance through the woodland garden to fish for wild brown trout on 3 miles of the River Isla.
