Brachkashie Cottage sits on the edge of Loch Knockie in a stunningly beautiful, tranquil setting. There are incredible views over the loch and the property has the benefit of its own jetty, rowing boat and fishing rights for wild brown trout during the season.
Brachkashie has been completely refurbished to a high standard, with Edwardian style beds and top of the range appliances plus a cosy wood burning stove. The cottage stands in two and a half acres of private grounds. Brachkashie was featured in the October 2015 issue of Country Homes and Interiors magazine.

Sorry, no dogs.
Brachkashie is a charming 3 bedroom Highland cottage with magnificent views overlooking Loch Knockie. Trout fishing and a rowing boat is included in the rental during the season.
Tranquil cottage right on a loch. Simply breathtaking beauty as you open the door. Brachkashie Cottage is so welcoming. The beds are comfortable with the loveliest soft sheets and thick feather duvets. There are even sheepskin rugs for when you get out of bed, stylish hot water bottles for cold nights and a wonderful fireplace with wood supplied. Bathrooms include a bath and shower – which worked well for our family as some like to relax in a bath while others prefer to shower. The jetty onto the loch was a very special feature and my family enjoyed rowing the little boat to the island. Absolute heaven. Marjorie Harrison – April 2023

Golf Fort Augustus, just 8 miles away has an 18 hole course which runs alongside the Caledonian Canal. The new and wonderful Championship links course of Castle Stuart is only an hour’s drive from Brachkashie.
There is lots to do and see in the local area including the most famous loch in the world, Loch Ness!
The charming village of Fort Augustus is just 8 miles away and is worth a visit. The main attraction is watching the boats come through Locks on the Caledonian Canal before entering Loch Ness. There are several pubs and places to eat including the The Lovat Arms Hotel.
Closeby in the small hamlet of Whitebridge, just 2.5 miles, the Whitebridge Hotel offers very good bar meals and has a good atmosphere. A good place to meet some of the locals! Take a drive along the Great Glen passing by Loch Oich and Loch Lochy to Loch Linnhe where it enters the sea on the west coast, is worth a trip.

As a family living in London we’ve been to many rental cottages over the years and this is by far the best. The location is amazing, the house was fully equipped and the owners were available immediately for help. We had the best family New year ever - the boat trip up Loch ness was a dream!

Great highland cottage by the Loch! A really perfect place to stay! The house is very tastefully furnished. It offers every comfort, a very nice property and then also the possibility to explore the very beautiful Loch Knockie with the boat and canoe belonging to the house and to fish for trout with the fly. Simply beautiful, peaceful and wonderfully relaxing. The walk to Loch Ness, which as a cue to the good location, followed by a picnic lunch on the lake shore is relaxing. The contact with the hostess was of course very nice!

We had a wonderful stay at Brachkashie. The cottage and setting are absolutely stunning and the location towards the southern end of Loch Ness provides the perfect base to explore the Highlands. There was so much to do as a family, fantastic walks, fishing, boating and sightseeing. Thank you for a memorable stay, we hope and look forward to returning one day soon.

The cottage is perfectly cozy located right by a beautiful lake. Everything was better than expected. The interior design is flawless and the fire place made us feel cozy in the evenings. The kitchen is well equipped. The landscape surrounding the cottage is breathtaking and canoeing on the lake is so peaceful. Catherine was always there for us if we had questions and very polite. We’d love to be back one day!

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Brachkashie Cottage. It was like living in a House Beautiful magazine and I have returned home inspired to redecorate our own home much to my husband’s annoyance. He has returned home determined to take up rowing!
