Blairquhan is one of the finest Regency castles in Scotland. The Castle has been discreetly modernised to provide very comfortable facilities and a unique location for visitors, guests and special events. Blairquhan Castle was built in 1821 – 1824 on the site of a previous castle dating back to 1346.
Blairquhan provides a magnificent setting for weddings, corporate events and conferences or special celebrations and family gatherings. The castle and grounds become exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. The castle itself has accommodation for 30 guests and there are 8 luxury cottages (accommodating up to 46 guests) in the grounds of the Castle to provide additional accommodation for larger groups of up to 76.
Visitors will find the castle and grounds of particular interest. The gardens are included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, a directory maintained by Historic Scotland while the castle featured as a replacement Balmoral in the Oscar-winning ‘The Queen’, starring Helen Mirren.
