Ballinacurra

Sleeps 53 / £POA
Ballinacurra is a fantastic house decorated to a very high standard offering guests something rather unique including winning the Best Exclusive Hire Property Award at the Luxury Travel Awards in Cannes a few years ago.
Ballinacurra is situated just outside the lovely town of Kinsale in Southern Ireland and enjoys it’s own private grounds of 40 acres.
Set within a walled garden with 10 foot high stone walls and with 40 acres of woodland and lawns, this estate is in a unique position to offer its guests “Private, Discreet and Exclusive” use of a country house and grounds.
Built in 1791 and took 3 years to renovate, Ballinacurra is a stylishly informal residence. The completed refurbishment has been sympathetic to the old world charm of the house whilst still combining the ethos of “East meets West meets Cork”. This is a 21st century take on the original Georgian style which highlighted the wonderlust of the Georgians and their passion for mixing antiques with treasured artefacts from abroad. The end result is a passionate interpretation of the best from the four corners of the world, producing an individual and eclectic style.
This style, however, is not new to Ballinacurra. The house has had a colourful history of owners and residents — from an old Cork family dynasty, an English Colonel, retired British Counsel and even as a convent at one stage. So the influences of many of these people and their passion for travel were well demonstrated in the house. None more amply demonstrated than by the wall paintings in the Danford Ballroom which is a Italian Tromp L’oeil executed by John Danford in 1960. He also themed bedrooms to reflect his life in Japan, Africa and England (see History).
There are now 22 individually-themed en-suite rooms – 14 bedrooms in the main house, 4 bedroom traditional stone cottage and 4 bedroom coach house. Facilities include a bar, snug, dining room, ballroom, garden room, news room, sitting room, living room, commercial and domestic kitchens, and massage facilities.
Magnificent south-facing walled gardens feature an outdoor entertainment patio, croquet lawn, playground, helipad, picnic lawn, stream and pond, and leads down to woods and a small boat jetty.
The House can accommodate a maximum of 53 adults sharing in the 3 types of accommodation which is the Main House, Coach House and Cottage Ballinacurra offers its residents an individual private residence but without forfeiting any of the luxuries you expect in a Private Country House.
