Alladale Wilderness Reserve is a 23,000-acre gem in the Scottish Highlands, about 1.5 hours north of Inverness. The reserve is famous for its owner’s dream of ‘rewilding’: restoring this beautiful part of Scotland back to its original state, with lush forest and original highland plant and animal species, such as the Scottish pine, red squirrel and Scottish wild cat.
Alladale is a nature lover’s dream. The rugged terrain, dramatic glens, colourful hills, glistening rivers and herds of majestic red deer will take your breath away.
The luxury Alladale lodge, built in 1877, is a site to behold. It sits proudly on a hill, overlooking some of Scotland’s last ancient Caledonian Scots pine forest. This beautiful Victorian manor, refurbished by Laura Ashley, is comfortable and spacious, sleeping up to 14 guests in 7 rooms. Its traditional design includes original fireplaces and tall sash windows, which makes it feel like a true Scottish home away from home. The property boasts a set of lovely extras, such as an in-house sauna, gym and snooker room.
Additional accommodation is available at modern cottages Eagles Crag (sleeps 8) and Ghillie’s Rest (sleeps 4). These beautifully presented properties are situated in Glen Alladale and come with fantastic views.
Onsite activities include wildlife watching, world class brown trout fishing, guided hikes, 4×4 tours, pigeon clay shooting, foraging, mountain biking, wild swimming, massage & beauty treatments and whisky tastings.

The 23,000 acre Highland wildlife reserve of Alladale has a purpose – to restore the balance of nature in a wilderness area of Scotland.
Having been in the hospitality business for many years, when it comes to personal holidays my expectations are high, not only are they met but surpassed when I stay at Alladale Wilderness Reserve.

Alladale exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The house was so comfortable, Sarah was wonderful, infact every member of the team made a difference to our stay. Tom produced delicious meals for us. Inis was so informative on the vision and the conservation, Ryan was also great he took us out to shoot clays. Marie and Jean where great with lots of info on the area. We enjoyed the walks and all that went with them, it is stunning countryside. It was a magical few days with those near and dear to us. Thank you for all your help it was a pleasure dealing with you.
