Aldourie, a 300-year-old Baronial castle set on the banks of Loch Ness has been sympathetically reimagined to create a beautiful house and one-of-a-kind exclusive stay, surrounded by 500 acres of gardens, woodland and wildflower meadows.
Aldourie Castle is a classic example of Scottish Baronial architecture, having achieved that status in the 19th century, the property has evolved, both physically and in its use, over a period of around 220 years. Today, the castle with a bewitching silhouette characterised by multiple towers and turrets, situated between the southern shores of the famous Loch Ness and the steep sides of the Glen, has been sympathetically transformed to create a beautiful house decorated with informal elegance, and is available for exclusive hire.
The devoted team at Aldourie, welcome guests for an unforgettable experience that will leave an enduring impression. Whether for a multi-generational family holiday or to celebrate a special birthday or anniversary, guests can take over the only habitable Castle on Loch Ness as their own home, fully serviced and staffed.
With a unique and welcoming atmosphere the Castle is ideal for small groups but can accommodate up to 24 guests. Aldourie sits in a world of its own cocooned by enchanting woodland and magnificent Highland landscapes yet is only 30 minutes from Inverness Airport.
The Boathouse, a vast structure, with a whimsical hull-shaped roof, makes an inviting spot for sundowners on the Loch. A truly unique location for dining, recreation and relaxation…
The Steadings, with stunning rustic interiors and romantic courtyard create a magical setting for events, such as weddings, and special birthdays.
A further five charming cottages – all private, self-catered and distinctive in character – are also available to rent within the grounds. Aldourie Cottages can sleep between two and six guests and have recently been restored to a luxury standard.
As an organisation, Aldourie is dedicated to the rehabilitation of some of Scotland’s most precious landscapes. By staying at Aldourie, guests are contributing towards Wildland’s 200-year vision to protect the essential nature and rewilding of the Scottish Highlands.
