Accommodation

The unique atmosphere of Aldourie is incredibly warm and welcoming so you will feel completely at home as soon as they walk through the Castle door.  Light fills every room, staircase and passage way with bay windows and secret doors at every turn.  Roaring log fires are throughout to entice you to relax and switch off.  The original state rooms on the ground floor comprise:

Laird’s Room – start the day with a traditional Scottish breakfast

Red Drawing Room – curl up on cosy sofas and chaise longues with friends or family

Library – enjoy a game of chess or choose from hundreds of books including original Game Books from the Estate

Dining Room – elegantly designed for formal or informal dining

Main Hall – featuring a grand piano and perfect for music and dancing during celebrations

Billiards Room – also featuring a widescreen plasma TV and board games.  It’s a snug space to have fun and unwind

The outdoor terrace overlooking Loch Ness is a perfect space for family barbecues or afternoon tea in the summer months.

Aldourie Castle has twelve individual double/twin bedrooms (sleeping 24) over three floors including tower rooms at the top of stone spiral staircases and even a shower in one of the turrets.

The Estate also has a number of traditional cottages which can be taken independently or in addition to the Castle.  Aldourie Cottages can sleep between two and six people and have recently been restored to a luxury standard and each has a private garden.  Aldourie is the ideal property rental for small parties of guests but can accommodate up to 45 guests with the cottages included.

Sporting

You can explore and enjoy the Estate’s large and impressive grounds and picturesque parkland, including arboretum, old kitchen garden, family burial ground, enchanting woodland and Loch Ness shoreline. The helpful but unobtrusive concierge team can help you organise any activity both on and off the Estate.

You can salmon fish on the River Ness and we can arrange driven and walked-up shooting and stalking on the local estates.  There are some of the finest golf links courses to play within easy driving distance from the castle including Royal Dornoch, the championship courses of Nairn and Castle Stuart.

On Loch Ness we can arrange a fast Rib experience to Urquhart Castle, Nessie hunting tours, Loch Ness cruise, canoeing, zorbing, swimming, mountain biking.
