Bedrooms and bathrooms
Achnagairn sleeps 55 people in 24 individually designed bedrooms, Every bedroom (bar two) has its own individually decorated bathroom, whether private or en-suite. Six of the most splendid bathrooms have whirlpool baths. Marble, hand painted tiles and designer fittings characterise the bathrooms.
There is a sumptuous bridal suite with a four poster bed, impressive stone fireplace, dressing room and a triple aspect over the formal gardens. The bathroom is of pink marble with a luxurious walk-in shower, double basins and even a classical statue. And for the bride who cannot bear to be parted from her groom we have the perfect solution – a vast whirlpool bath overlooking the grounds and situated only a footstep away from the bed!
Reception rooms
The reception rooms are elegant and spacious with original open fireplaces and wood panelling. There is a vast dining room, a breathtaking drawing room with a view on 3 sides, and a library, but the crowning glory of the house is a stately ballroom complete with minstrels’ gallery. Seating up to 150 people, the ballroom provides an unforgettable backdrop for any celebration.
In addition to the rooms one would expect, there is also a cinema, a table tennis room, a sauna and for the ultimate in pampering, a beauty therapy room.
7 Luxury Lodges have opened on the grounds of the estate, which makes the total accommodation including the castle to 130.
Courtyard wing
There is an entirely separate wing. This would be ideal for one or two family units within the larger group. It allows the smaller party a high degree of privacy whilst still feeling very much part of the proceedings. The wing comprises a independent kitchen, dining/living room and five bedrooms with bathrooms.
The Grounds
The Castle stands in 15 acres of grounds with a river, woodlands and ancient trees. There are stunning formal gardens which can be seen from all the principal rooms of the castle. These south facing gardens are a stunning backdrop to wedding photos.
There are woodlands galore, leading down to a stream and our own small private river.
