Tressady Lodge is close to Sutherland’s east coast with an elevated south facing position and fine views across Strath Fleet.
The lodge is fully furnished for parties up to fourteen guests, with accommodation for a limited number of additional guests by arrangement. Lettings are weekly and run from Sunday to Sunday.
Dornoch and Golspie on the east coast provide a range of local services including shopping facilities, hotels, garages, post offices, health centre and gift shops. There is also a local village store and post office in Rogart. Inverness can be reached in a little over an hour by car and provides all the services of a major regional centre.
Guests have access to the Tressady Estate extending to some 22,000 acres and offering a range of sporting activities when in season including red and roe deer stalking, hill loch fishing, including boats. Walked-up and driven shooting. A full clay pigeon shoot is situated within the policies. Close to the lodge, Yves Loch provides guests with fly fishing for hard fighting rainbow trout before setting forth to the hill in search of the wild brown trout. The Estate is well equipped with a full range of Land Rovers, Argocat and ATV’s.
Other recreational facilities close by include sea fishing from Brora, golf at one of many challenging courses including the famous Royal Dornoch, swimming from numerous sandy beaches or the heated swimming pool in Golspie, pony trekking or simply visiting the many places of historic interest in this fascinating part of the Highlands. Dunrobin Castle, the ancient seat of the Earls of Sutherland, one mile north of Golspie is open to the public from May to September and is well worth a visit.
The lodge is fully equipped to a high standard with all bed and table linen provided. The fully fitted kitchen includes a four oven aga, electric cooker, dishwasher, two fridges and deep freeze. The lodge is served by mains water and electricity with full oil fired central heating throughout.
A telephone and broadband internet are available in the lodge.
Included in the rental The basic rent for the lodge varies with the time of the year and includes all accommodation for up to 14 guests together with the services of a housekeeper and cleaner for 2 hours each day. Fishing for salmon and trout as described above is included.
Tressady offers a variety of mixed sport, including red and roe stalking, salmon and trout, walked-up and driven shooting, as well as woodcock shooting later in the season. Tressady Lodge is very comfortable and is situated just one hour north of Inverness.
Guests can enjoy the warm atmosphere of a private house beautifully furnished with open log fires and house staff to ensure your stay is a memorable occasion. Parties may choose to self-cater or employ the services of the local cook who will discuss with you a range of menu ideas based on traditional Scottish recipes designed to meet every taste.

Ground Floor Entrance Hall, Inner Hall, Dining Room, Drawing Room, Sitting Room and Map Room. Gun Room, Kitchen, Breakfast Room, TV Room, Flower Room, Larder/Freezer Room, Laundry and Drying Room.
First Floor Master bedroom (double) with ensuite bathroom, 5 twin bedrooms, 1 single bedroom and 5 bathrooms. A further 2 double bedrooms, 3 single bedrooms and a bathroom are situated off the back stairs.

Tressady Hunting Lodge There is a separate hunting lodge with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, which has just been refurbished to a high standard and is available for smaller shooting and golfing parties, throughout the year. New 32′ flatscreen with Sky.
Salmon fishing Tressady has 5 miles of double bank fishing on the River Fleet, a small spate river with runs of salmon and sea trout from mid July until end of season 30th October. Salmon fishing also available on 8 miles of the Upper Brora with several pools providing good fishing when conditions are favourable.
Loch fishing Hill loch fishing for brown trout is available on three hill lochs, two of which have boats. Yves loch within a few minutes walk of the lodge offers exciting fishing for hard fighting stocked rainbow trout.
Roe stalking Roe buck stalking is available for two months during May and June. Roe doe stalking can be arranged during the season between 21 October and 31 March.
Grouse Available for two weeks from 12 August onwards for up 2/3 days per week for 2 – 6 guns per day. Shooting is either over pointers or walked up depending on conditions. The expected bag is around 5 brace per day.
Red deer stalking Red deer stag stalking is available from the mid September to 20 October. Stalking is for up to two rifles per day normally on five days each week accompanied by the estate stalker with cross country vehicle. Hind stalking is available from 21 October onwards.
Rough shooting Walked up shooting for woodcock and duck flighting is available on the estate. Tressady’s shooting parties averaged 25 woodcock bagged over pointers each day during 2008-2009 season. Partridge and pheasants with dogs provides excellent sport. A mixed bag of around 50/60 head of mixed game daily may be expected. Shooting is normally on three days each week.
Rabbit shooting Rabbit shooting can be arranged on a daily basis from 1 November onwards.
Clay pigeon shooting A fully equipped clay pigeon course is set up within the lodge grounds and shooting is available for guests under the supervision of the estate keeper.
Golf For those who prefer to hit a ball there are many superb golf courses within 20 miles of Tressady. The famous Royal Dornoch is only 12 miles from the estate including Brora & Skibo.
All sporting is subject to season and availability at additional cost.
