Activities
You can come and take a tour of the Distillery and find out what goes into producing whisky.
Once you’ve learned the ins and outs of distilling, you’ll be able to try two delicious drams for yourself. With the help of the expert guides you will experience all stages of the whisky making process from mashing and fermenting to distilling and maturation. Learn about how after a break of 523 years, we are once again bringing whisky production back to the spiritual home of scotch whisky.
Tours are available at 10:30am, 12:00pm and 2:00pm, and we are open 7 days a week from 10am – 4pm.
The Apothecary Experiences offer you a fantastic chance to get ‘hands on’ in making your own delicious version of Aqua Vitae, using herbs, spices and spirit tinctures such as cleavers, lemon verbena, douglas fir and sweet cicely, all of which grow in our gardens, amidst the grounds of the ancient Abbey. You will choose which flavours you like and will use them to make your very own Aqua Vitae Spirit – all under the watchful eye of our Apothecary.
Combining the history of distilling with the science of how to produce malt spirits, you will be taken all the way through the spirit blending process.
Apothecary Experiences can be for a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 8 people (over 18’s only), arranged by appointment at a time that suits you, so make fantastic get togethers with friends, birthday parties, or even Hen and Stag parties.
Private dining in the Apothecary is available and is on an exclusive-use basis, allowing your guests to enjoy the Apothecary’s magical atmosphere undisturbed, after the distillery has closed to the public.
You can choose your menu from some of the finest produce available in Scotland and we can help you to choose wines, drams and drinks, as well as entertainment.
TEAM BUILDING DAYS
Lindores Abbey Distillery offer an extremely unique venue for team-building days, the ruined abbey of Lindores! Gathering amidst the beautiful sandstone walls and ivy you can toss cabers, hurl shotputs and run races in your very own mini Highland games – they work with a selection of events companies that they would be happy to put you in touch with to tailor an extraordinary team building day suited to you. After all that exertion you are also ideally located right opposite the Legacy Bar where you can enjoy a hard-earned victory (or commiseration!) drink. The abbey is also the perfect place for al fresco dining.
