Keanchulish Lodge is located in a breathtaking position overlooking the sea and Ardmair Bay on the beautiful west coast of Scotland. The property benefits from its own private beach in front the of house! Keanchulish Estate offers salmon fishing on the Kanaird River as well as renowned trout fishing on three large lochs all with boats. There are numerous other hill lochs for guests to fish and enjoy on the estate. Mackerel fishing can also be arranged from a rowing boat with outboard, which will be skippered by the head keeper.
Keanchulish Lodge offers comfortable accommodation for up to 10 guests plus a single bedroom for a cook, if required. The house is very much a family home and as mentioned it is situated in a wonderful position overlooking the sea, offering guests unique west coast holiday experience. The head keeper is a keen fisherman and will be available within the rental to assist fisherman on the river and the lochs.
Keanchulish enjoys wonderful views over the sea, its own private beach in front the of house, as well as salmon fishing on the River Kanaird, renowned trout fishing on estate lochs, and a sea boat for mackerel fishing! The ultimate west coast family holiday!
Keanchulish Lodge is let on a self-catering basis with accommodation for up to 10 guests, plus a single bedroom for a cook, if required. The accommodation briefly comprises:
Kitchen/breakfast room with Aga and additional gas cooker. A good size breakfast table. Large sitting room with open fireplace and views of the sea. Salmon fishing Keanchulish Estate owns the Lower River Kanaird, a delightful west coast spate salmon river, which flows past the lodge into the estuary and sea. There is salmon fishing available for up to 5 rods on approximately 2.5 miles of double bank fishing. There is newly built large fishing hut for guests to use. The sea trout and salmon fishing season runs from late April through until mid October.
Trout fishing There are three main trout lochs on Ledmore Estate, each with one boat allocated for guests to use.
Mackerel fishing can also be arranged.
Ledmore Estate offers renowned trout fishing on Loch Cam, Loch Veyatie and Loch Urigill. These are all large trout lochs and Urigill has a lovely fishing hut with 4 bunk beds and available for guests staying in the lodge.
Stalking Stalking on Keanchulish and Ledmore Estate is fully allocated during the 2021 season.
In addition to the fishing and access to the sea there are wonderful walking and cycling opportunities in the area. Probably some of most magnificent walking in the UK!
The delightful fishing village of Ullapool is a short drive of 15 minutes to the south.
