Finnich Malise is a beautiful Georgian House built between 1806 and 1809. It stands in its own grounds of 220 acres. Surrounding the house are large lawns backed by mature woodlands. Walks up the hill to the South give superb panoramic views of the Fintry Hills, Ben Lomond and the Trossachs. Finnich Malise lies on the edge of the Loch Lomond National park with easy access to all its activities.
There is a thatched summer house and a tennis court. In the renovated steading there is a large hall with a bar, kitchen and a ping pong table, suitable for small parties.
Finnich Malise has recently had an efficient Biomass heating system installed.
The house stands in total privacy however the towns of Drymen and Killearn are both only 10 minutes away. They have shops (a very good butcher), pubs and restaurants. There is an excellent medical centre in Killearn. Tesco and Marks & Spencer Foods are in Milngavie, 20 minutes drive away.
Glasgow City centre, Glasgow airport and Stirling are 25 miles from Finnich Malise. Edinburgh is an hour and 15 minutes away and Gleneagles under an hour.
Drymen has a small public golf course as well as Buchanan Castle Golf Club.
Fishing is available on the Endrick.

The house is beautifully and luxuriously furnished and sleeps up to 10 people.

Prices based on self catering.

There are 4 cottages in the grounds that can be rented out. As the dining room will seat 20 people, it would be quite easy to have a few more staying in the cottages and sometimes nice for younger families to have their own cottage. Please ask us for more details.

We say...

A charming Georgian country house standing in 220 acres of private, secluded grounds, yet only an hour’s drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow. A beautiful area to explore and enjoy including the Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park.

You say...

We had a truly wonderful time. Our six couples arrived to a warm welcome by our hosts who ensured we had absolutely everything we needed. The house itself, although imposing from the outside has a warm, welcoming ambiance inside and we immediately appreciated the patina of a family home. It is beautifully furnished and had space for us to enjoy dining together, laughing together and yet space enough to seek individual peace and quiet when a quiet corner was desired. As the weather improved so too did our appetite to explore the extensive grounds which was rewarded by frequent sightings of deer, hares and song birds and even the sound of the cuckoo. Although the House appeared in most respects to be deep in the countryside, facilities and amenities were all close to hand; from the essential grocery stores to the equally important restaurants and shops. We feel privileged to have enjoyed the special warmth and hospitality of Finnich Malise and are looking forward to returning at the very next opportunity, be it as a couple or the complete group.
