Couldoran House is a well-known landmark in the Kishorn area, its facade standing out against the green of the trees surrounding it. Situated next to the River Kishorn and with views right out to the Cuillins on Skye, the house is ideal for a classic west coast holiday, enjoying some of the finest hill walking in the whole of Wester Ross. For those interested in a sporting holiday, the Estate can offer, by arrangement, salmon and trout fishing, stalking and shooting on its 5,000 acres.
The beauty of Couldoran is that despite its truly remote location, surrounded by fabulous mountains, loch, sea and river, you are still just a two-hour drive from Inverness – a drive which takes you through some of the most dramatic scenery in Scotland.
The Applecross Peninsula is renowned for its startling beauty, challenging mountains and some of the most remote strands of coastline and beach in Europe – not to mention the excellent seafood restaurants! Yet its seclusion belies the fact that from here you can easily head south-west and explore the Isle of Skye, north to Loch Torridon and east to Loch Carron – enjoying a wealth of mountains and famous sites.
Couldoran is a great family house designed to accommodate and entertain old and young alike with its games room and spacious sitting rooms with views to the garden and surrounding hills. The central heating provides oodles of hot water – much needed after a day on the hills – and the sauna is a welcome luxury for those aching muscles too!
Walkers and fishing parties will appreciate the large and very warm drying room, with its racks and boot storage areas providing plenty of space for equipment and gear.
Mountains within easy reach include: Beinn Damph Sgurr a Garaidh Sgurr a Chaorachain Beinn Bhan Liathach Beinn Eighe Cuillins on Skye are possible in a day
2 Dogs are welcome in the main house but are restricted to the back hall and kitchen. Kennels are also available to use.
Please note the road to the house is also used by fish farm vehicles.
There is a separate studio that sleeps 2 for a small extra charge, allowing groups of 20.
