“I am not sure where to start to express my gratitude for your hospitality for Katie’s 21st weekend! We ALL had a wonderful time. The venue was perfect and all the elements I had requested came together beautifully. We all felt totally at ease in your house and what a beautiful house it is! That it exceeded our expectations was a bonus and you will never really know how much this meant to Katie. Thank you all from the very bottom of my heart!”

It is possible to rent Colstoun House for exclusive use groups. Accommodation in 8 bedrooms: 4 x 4 poster bedrooms 4 x double or twin bedrooms
All bedrooms have fully functioning wood-burning stoves and access to one of 5 bathrooms. All bedrooms were named after their contents, their decoration or their previous function.
The Rose and Thistle rooms are four-poster bedrooms. These rooms were named in the mid-18th century, around the time of the construction of Edinburgh’s ‘New Town’.
The Red Room, another four-poster, takes its name from its furnishings and situation. Located on the West-front of the house, the Red Room is often bathed in glorious shades of red from the setting sun.
The Old School Room takes its name from this prior function. Located at the north end of the west front, the Old School Room contains the door to the bartizan turret and a beautiful four-posted double bed.
The Indian Room is situated in the north east of the house and was named to commemorate the promotion of the 1st Marques of Dalhousie (James Broun-Ramsay) to the position of Governor-General of India. This double/twin bedroom contains several watercolour prints brought back by the Marquess from India, and the trunk used to transport them.
The Napoleon Room is positioned in the south-east of the house. It was named in recognition of the Napoleonic prisoners of war who were incarcerated near the house.
The Saffron Room a twin/king bedroom is located on the East Front of the house and is decorated with rich saffron dyed silks.
The George room another twin/king bedroom is located in the centre of the West Front and has wonderful views over the West Lawn.
